Wings Take Flight

Temporary Interactive Art Display Encourages Youth to Find Their Wings.

Outside of Ten West Center for the Arts, a simple set of wings are lovingly hand-painted onto a large sheet of acrylic. Passersby are encouraged to take their photo in front of the wings and be creative in the process.

“Kayla Kollmann did a great job with this piece.” Remarked Andrew Okerson. “We heard folks around Fortville asking for something artistic and interactive, and we thought the wings were a great way to do that.”

Artist Kayla Kollmann said that the wings represent discovery, creativity, and the positive uplifting force the arts have on young people. The piece, created from recycled materials, will be up around Fortville for the next few weeks. Patrons will find the hashtag #GetCR8TV on the piece. Tag photos on social media with this hashtag to create a dialog about how creativity lifts you.
