Ten West Holding Open Auditions for It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. 

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

The show is on stage December 2 at 7:30pm and December 3 at 2:30 and 7:30pm. Tickets on sale n!

The Cast:

Oliver Reese Johnston

Rick Garrett
Rick Garrett is a native of East Tennessee. A professional comedian and musician, he’s returning to the acting stage after a long absence,

Rick was in the cast of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, The Music Man, and Quilters at the Muncie Civic Theatre. Although he’s done numerous comedy and musical shows at Ten West Center for the Arts, this is his first play at Ten West.

Rick has been featured on the Armed Forces Radio and TV Network, the TV series “Who’s Laughing Now”, and is the winner of the Cabana Comedy Contest, as well as recipient of the Hooser Comedy Award. In addition, he’s been profiled in the USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles times newspapers, as well as Men’s Journal magazine.

Garrett makes his home on the north side of Indianapolis with his wife and best friend, Holly, as well as a houseful of rescued pets.

Holly Garrett

Holly J. Garrett is a native of Fortville, a 1989 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and a 1994 graduate of Ball State University with degrees in Elementary and Music Education. She is a vocalist/violinist and has been performing in bands, ensembles, and studios since 1995.  Holly is no stranger to the stage, having played in Mount Vernon High School’s productions of Oliver! and Annie, as well as a variety of productions with Carmel Community Playhouse, Imagine Performing Arts, Metamora Performing Arts, Indiana State Fair, and Ten West.  This is her first full scale production at Ten West, and would like to thank the Okersons for the opportunities to give back through the arts!

Ryan England
Ryan is very excited to be returning to the Ten West stage in his first play in almost a decade. Some of Ryan’s favorite roles include William Barfée in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Trekkie Monster in Avenue Q, Man 1 in Songs for a New World, Shrek in Shrek the Musical, Horton the Elephant in Seussical the Musical, and Captain Hook in Peter Pan. Ryan would like to thank his amazing parents, Jack and Lee Anne, his incredible son, Tristan, and his fantastic fiance, Megan, for all their love and support. “Thanks everyone, and enjoy the show!”

    • Dakota is a junior at MVHS, performing as a WBFR Playhouse trio member in her 9th theatre production. She was most recently seen in the MVHS production of Hairspray! as Edna Turnblad, Dakota hopes to attend college for Musical Theatre and continue sharing her love for the arts until she is as old as the characters she plays.
